The KING 40 is a true dual-purpose cruiser/racer which can compete successfully offshore or around the cans, yet still offers a comfortable cockpit and interior for relaxed family sailing. The KING 40 builds on the two most successful designs of this size in recent years, the IRC 39 Mariners Cove and the IRC 40 Tiamat: both UK IRC Champions in 2006. With winning in its genes, the KING 40 has been positioned to ensure that it has the widest possible performance band, with particular focus on light and medium airs racing. High stability is encouraged by the IRC rule and ensures pace all the way up the wind range. The KING 40 easily surpasses existing stability requirements for the world’s great ocean races.
This is a turn-key IRC race boat that allows the new owner to immediately get out there and be at the top of the leaderboard.
This Mills design still is one of the most competitive IRC boats in this size bracket
The King 40 is built in accordance with the European CE-certification and meets the CE-Directive 94/25/CE Category A “Ocean” for recreational vessels.
