Entry registration now open for 2022 ORC Mediterranean Championship This event is positioned as a prelude to the ORC Worlds in June in Porto Cervo Registration is now open for Tre Golfi Sailing Week, sponsored by Rolex, and held over 14-21 May 2022. This event will include racing for the 2022 ORC Mediterranean Championship, the 67th edition of the Regata dei Tre Golfi, and the 2022 Maxi European Championship. The racing venue for this event is in the Bay of Naples between Sorrento and Capri, with shoreside activities being based in Sorrento, a beautiful village and its surroundings known worldwide for its scenery and attractions, with plenty of hotels and accommodation alternatives available for all budgets. The area is easily connected to Naples by road and ferries, thus rendering logistics much easier than being based on an island. The 2022 ORC Mediterranean Championship will comprise one long-distance race on the same course of the 150-mile Regata dei Tre Golfi (starting on Saturday 14 May) and, from Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 May, up to five windward-leeward races on the usual courses in the waters between Sorrento and Capri. Yachts will be hosted in one of the three marinas in the city at Piano di Sorrento, providing all services to yachts and where the race village will be located. Social events will be open to participants in both the ORC series and the Maxi Europeans. “The ORC Mediterranean Championship was established a year ago and subsequently abandoned,” said CRV Italia Vice President Maurizio Pavesi. “Re-establishing such a prestigious trophy is a great honor to us and we at CRV Italia are confident the event will be attractive to all racers, including participants who are also in training before the ORC World Championship hosted in Porto Cervo in June.” For the Notice of Race and Registration, visit the event website at www.tregolfisailingweek.com. 0.00 of 0 votes

London (21st June 2021); The World Match Racing Tour, today announced the Fareast 28R keelboat has been selected and approved for the Shenzhen Bao’an Match Cup, host of the WMRT Finals in Shenzhen China, 15-19 December 2021. A new fleet of seven Fareast 28R’s will be built for the event by Shanghai based manufacturer Far East Boats, a World Sailing One-Design Class. The selection of the Simonis-Voogd designed Fareast 28R for the WMRT Finals was agreed following consultation between WMRT and the Shenzhen Bao’an District Government, host sponsor of the Shenzhen Bao’an Match Cup which will host the WMRT Finals from 2021-2025 in an agreement secured with the Tour last year. “The Fareast 28R is a popular and proven match racing boat”, commented WMRT Executive Director James Pleasance. “It is of course an advantage that the boats are built in China as this also helps to reduce any unnecessary shipping from both a cost and sustainability angle. The Fareast 28R has been used in previous WMRT events including the Monsoon Cup in Malaysia, so the teams are used to their handling and performance. We are excited to see a brand-new fleet being built for the WMRT Finals in December.” Established in 2002, Far East Boats has built over 18,000 boats to date across a comprehensive range of dinghies and keelboats, racing yachts, catamarans and rigid inflatables. The company is represented in over 50 countries and all boats are built in Far East Boats own state-of-the-art 20,000sq meter facility just outside Shanghai with a capacity to build between 30 – 40 Fareast 28Rs per month. Over 500 Fareast 28R boats have been sold to date with a growing fleet covering Asia, Europe, America, Africa and Oceania, including Korea, the Philippines, Sweden, Germany, Holland, UK, USA, Canada, Seychelles, South Africa and Australia. Constructed using an ISO polyester-foam core sandwich, the Fareast 28R is equipped with high quality hardware from industry leading suppliers including Harken, Robline, Spinlock and Selden. The new fleet of seven Fareast 28R yachts will be built around October prior to being commissioned and delivered for the event in December. The boats will have the very latest modifications following feedback from a number of professional sailors over the last few months. The inaugural Shenzhen Bao’an Match Cup will play host to the WMRT Finals from 15-19 December in Shenzhen, China.   For information on: Far East Boats, check our new built section World Match Racing Tour, visit www.wmrt.com Shenzhen Bao’an Match Cup, visit http://www.szbaoanmatchcup.com/sy
