FARR 52 OD description by owner Owners are keen to sell this mostly updated Farr 52 One Design, that they acquired back in 2003 from George Collins in USA, the last Privateer that raced the VOR. She is a full carbon racing yacht built on an One Design prescription in 2000 from Carroll Marine USA, and untill today had only the two owners mentioned. One Design translates to strong, long lasting, well thought, unbreakable, all round, fast, no rule compromise and perfectly equipped with Hall carbon spars, Lewmar, Harken, Spinlock, Navtec gear and Yanmar engine. But One Design from Bruce Farr means more than anything else User Friendly. Team Optimum, coming from a 36-footer, managed in their second season only(2004) to win the Aegean Rally and the Rolex Middle Sea Race (in IRC & IMS) back to back with a crew of usual suspects (amateurs). In 2008 ORCi World Championship we finished 5th overall and 1st Corinthians and in 2016 ORCi European Championship 9th overall. OPTIMUM 3 has reached the podium in the Aegean Rally 11 times, including 5 times 1st. She has always been dry-sailed, spending no more than 60 days per year in the water, the rest on its US made custom cradle. OPTIMUM 3 has been maintained and upgraded rigorously. Nowadays, she sports a 2,05 meter carbon bowsprit, flies 300 sqm masthead spinnakers that are lowered through a new XL bow hatch and hoists a 100+ sqm mainsail with a square top of 1,6m supported by 3 carbon battens/systems that slide on a special glued-on low profile Hall Spars/Antal dual mast groove track that has proved extremely efficient and versatile. The B&G/Ockham electronics package is PC driven, updated and runs Deckman and Expedition tactical software and all info needed is readily available on any smart screen on board through extended Wi-Fi. Navtec Hydraulics for boomvang, outhaul and at the mast step are fully operational and are reliable solutions to control the loads even in gale force conditions like the ones we encountered in 2004, 2007 and 2014 in the Rolex Middle Sea Race. More info: https://www.racing-yachts.com/bolt-37-277.html   ARTICLE SAHORSE MAGAZINE: fast and fun can be affordable and accessible   Designed by Ker Yacht Design Ker Yacht Design , widely considered the leaders in this field of yacht design with a uniquely proven ability to produce smaller high performance race-boats that are competitive under IRC.Aimed squarely at the owner who while being excited by the TP’s and 40’ Racers on the market, chooses to apportion a much smaller budget to their racing and be closer in speed to the production cruiser-racers which make up a typical local fleet.Purpose built for handicap racing under IRC and ORCi, the Bolt 37’ is exciting to sail, and very fast for its size, but at the same time the parameters have been selected with a careful eye on the rating rules. Extensive CFD based optimisation techniques have led to lower hydrodynamic resistance but a particular effort has also been made to ensure the yacht is forgiving to sail, making it easier for the crew to extract its full performance potential.Designs from the Ker office have achieved many successes on the race course and have won many international trophies around the world, at regattas and classic offshore races.Key features of the design include: High adrenaline sailing, but with a fair rating. Excellent value. Modern ergonomic flush deck. Powerful sail plan but moderate wetted surface area ensures good performance in all wind conditions. 3.5m maximum beam allows trucking/towing without police escort in many countries. Yacht description The Landmark 43 is a Mark Mills design and has been one of the most successfull racing boats over the past 8 years in national and international regatta’s. The 2016 ORCi World Championship was won by a Landmark 43 with 2 other Landmarks ranked in the top 10. The Landmark 43 “Skarp” won the Dutch National Championship in 2015 and several other first prizes since it was launched in 2011. This Landmark 43 has been maintained by her skipper/owner by the highest standards and was refitted with new electronics in 2015. The boat, which has the option to sail in symmetrical or asymmetrical spinnaker configuration, comes with a large number of sails including a hardly used North Sails 3Di main and 3Di genua H sail. The Landmark 43 is a remarkable fast racing/cruiser sailboat. The hull is made of fiberglass re-inforced epoxy sandwich and gelcoat. The keel frame inside the boat is made of carbon composite and the whole hull and deck are laminated together to create an even more stiff structure. The deck layout is designed by former Volvo Ocean race members and shows optimal working space for the main sheet trimmer as the mainsheet traveller is placed on the aft of the deck. To save weight all interior components such as cubboards and doors are made of plastic honeycomb material covered by luxurieus wood veneer.  Floorboards are sandwich material covered by laminate. This Landmark 43 “Skarp” is hull #9 from the Dubai Ship Yard Premier Composite Technologies Ltd. Several improvements were made to the original Landmark design: Lighter hull, significant weight saving compared to earlier boats Full carbon keel frame inside the hull Hall Spars full carbon mast & boom Both symmetrical and asymmetrical set up (carbon spinnaker boom & carbon bowsprit) Extended electric system panel with 24 breaker/switches Mastervolt Lithium battery 12V / 180 Ah house battery (2016) Carbon light weight racing salon table Carbon light weight entry hatch Carbon foot frame for mainsheet trimmer Carbon deck patches for spinnaker sheet turning blocks Foldable, aluminum cleats (6) Additional 4 cupboards in the main cabin A Lewmar hatch at each side of the main cabin roof that can be opened Lowered in asking price to 295.000 euro incl EU VAT MILLS DESIGN

Cala Galera, Italy: The first day of the 2017 Melges 32 Boero World Championship in Cala Galera, Italy hosted by Circolo Nautico e della Vela Argentario has concluded with two races, leaving the fleet to bask in Russian colors. Pavel Kuznetsov's TAVATUY with Evgeny Neugodnikov as tactician won both races today. He and his team earned a perfect score in the 10-12 knots of breeze out of the Northwest, which unmistakably reveals their intention, not to mention their potential. Although the event is quite young, they have confirmed that they are the team to beat. It was also a very positive day for the current 2017 Melges 32 World League leader, Giangicomo Serena di Lapigio's G.SPOT representing Monaco. He submitted a 2-3 scoreline to now sit in second overall. The fleet hits the water again for Day Two with forecasts stating light air conditions may prevail with a warning at 13.00 (Italy). Top Five Results (Preliminary - After Two Races) 1. Pavel Kuznetsov/Evgeny Neugodnikov, TAVATUY; 1-1 = 2 2. Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio/Branko Brcin, G.SPOT; 2-3 = 5 3.
